History
Formed in 2002, Bloody Disgusting was one of the
first online challengers to horror mainstays like Fangoria (magazine). It also presents the horror
convention Horror Hound. Recently, it has seen some
significant competition from Comcast and Sony's
Fearnet. But unlike competitors such as Fearnet or
Fangoria, Bloody-Disgusting is largely "independent"
with Miska and Owen maintaining editorial control.
Accordingly, Sci Fi chose it as their site of the week
in August 2007.
Genre
Bloody Disgusting is regularly quoted in movie
trailers and advertisements for films like 30 Days of
Night or Feast. Miska also makes media appearances
as a "horror expert.
Controversy
In May of 2007, Fangoria banned Bloody Disgusting
from attending any Fangoria events.
