With a story and screenplay by NIGHTMARE creator Wes Craven, this third installment puts the series back on track with a return to the realm of real nightmares. The plot centers around the last of the Elm Street teenagers, all locked up together in a mental institution. It seems that bad dreams have driven these poor unfortunate teens over the edge, and they will do anything to stay awake. Heather Langenkamp returns to the role of Nancy, the one teen who was able to overcome her nightmares in the original film. In this film, Nancy is now an older, wiser expert on nightmares. Nancy’s expertise brings her to the mental institution to help the afflicted teens, only to discover their nightmares all share a common element. ..........
